We've recently started changing up the layout/functions of rooms in our house...again.
The dining room table is now in the breakfast room, so it's finally getting some use; the old breakfast table has been moved to the upstairs play/family area - we are going to see about turning that into more of an upstairs "family game room," that will house the furniture that has been in the room that will soon belong to Baby #2 (piano, tall bookcase, file cabinet) - the old breakfast table can now be used for card games, puzzles, coloring upstairs, etc. There will still be some toys and kid stuff (as well as the tall bookshelf outside of Jillian's room) upstairs, but we are also hoping to eventually get a sleeper sofa/futon for any guests that we might have in the future (yes, we have another bedroom upstairs, but it will remain my craftroom - I figure that I craft WAY more than we have visitors, so it just makes more sense this way).
Anyway, all of this to say that the old "dining room" is now Jillian's main "playroom." It's been fabulous having her stuff right off the kitchen! Even when I'm not in the playroom, I still know what's going on and can talk to her, help her, etc. It's also easier to keep picked up - not sure why, though...possibly because it's in more of a "public" place? Or maybe because it's a smaller space than upstairs?
The point to all of this was to share that Jillian has taken new interest in a chair I got her a while back. It's her "new" reading chair - she loves it!
